About Us » A Brief History

In 1965 Ed and Anne Adams founded "Irish Youth Camps" and began a camp ministry to young people with an emphasis on evangelism and teaching. As the work expanded to include training in evangelism, coffee-bar missions in local churches and summer outreach teams it was renamed Evangelical Youth Movement (EYM).

When Ed stepped down as director of EYM, David Millen, who had a close association with the work was appointed as his successor. Under David's leadership the organisation became Evangelical Ministries (EM) and broadened from being solely involved with youth to helping churches in every aspect of their ministry as they seek to transition towards greater relevance and effectiveness.

Today our focus is more on working in a 'consultative' capacity with churches and partnering them as they seek to accomplish the assignment that God has for them.
